   Sandy started Sunday, November 28, 2012.  Hurricane Sandy stretched for about two days, and was thought to be a "tropical storm'' but ended up being a real hurricane because of how much damage it left.  In new york hurricane sandy had to have killed at least 60 people. sandy whipped huge waves of water over the streets of atlantic city. i read the article ''sandy wreaks havoc across the northeast; at least 11 dead'' by matt smith. the article is about how horrible the hurricane was, and the damage it left. matt smith also explains the what happened during the hurricane.

   i have realized how seious hurricanes are. hurricanes cause a lot of damage wich scares places that the hurricanes hit the hardest and takes a lot of money and time to heal the scare.in the article, sandy caused people in hopitals at nyu to have to evacuate patients up to 200. in addition the bottom floor of the bellevue hospital center was flooded, and the hospital was running on emergency backup power.

   the storm was blamed to have caused 2.8 million outages across the north east. this means that many people probubly got sick from being in the cold for two long and maybe even a few deathes.also trees were nocked down and fell on homes and the people were struck indoors till people came to resque them. by monday afternoon, 23 states were warned about the harsh winds witch meant a lot of debree would be flying around and falling trees and branches, so it was highly recomended to stay indoors.

   in conclusion, this was no tropical storm i agree with the governer of pennsylvania who also said what i said. hurricane sandy concluded with millions of dollars worth of damage and many deaths across the north east. sandy ended by tuesday leaving damages and remains in some places.

   i am reading a book called Broken by Kelly Armstrong. this book is about a girl named Elena, or should i say she is older? That is because Elena is a wherewolf, so she could be 40 to 500 years. elena is pregnent with her husban clay. elena, clay, and jeremy are all in a pack. jeremy is their leader/alpha wolf. elena may have unleashed jack the ripper because of the letter that jack was put in by a mysterious sourser that they have not yet met. i am up to the part where elena and the pack are on an adventure to put jack the ripper back to where he came from. mean while, elena is having scary dreams about her baby dying at birth because  of the confusing conflict if its going to to be wolf, human, or both. elena is confused and unsure of her self.

   in the way beginning of the story elena has a dream that she is in wolf form but she is giving birth but something doesnt feel right about the birth finaly the baby arives but its all mangled and bloody she screams and wakes up. elena,clay, and jeremy say its all right but elena doesnt think so. now she is worried about her baby. i think that elena should be worried too because anything could happen and sometimes dreams reresent the future or the past. she should also be worried about the unleashing of jack the ripper because elena and the gang think he is zombie or imortal.

   i really enjoy this book. i really think that it is interesting. i love books with vampires, wolfs, and other imortal creatures as you might know from my previous reading responce.this book is very conflicted and intersesting because of jack the ripper wo is after the wolf pack and elena who is pregnant. i like think kelly armstrong is an inspirational writer

   the drummer boy of shiloh by ray bradburry is about a young boy named Joby. joby is a drummer boy for for his army.joby meets the general in this passege. in the passege joby is very unconfident about the war and himself.after all ''joby only has a drum and two sticks to beat it'' he does not have any protection in this dangerous war.the general trys to build up jobys confidents. i remember the time in sixth grade and it was my first real play. i was really scared i didnt have any confidents and kept asking "what if i mess up?'' but in the end i did very well and my mom,dad and sisters were really proud. joby lacks confients.

   joby lacks confients and does not no what to do because he is about to enter the huge world of war. in the beginning of the story joby is trying to sleep but he is way to nervous to close his eyes. joby is scared something bould happen to him.''i got only a drum, two sticks and no sheild.'' this shows that joby is very worried that he has nothing to protect him. this is a huge problem that joby faces. what will build his confidents?
 
   joby later meets the general. the gereral and tells him comferting things like: ''you are the heart of the army'' which is true joby is the one who shows who they are and makes the soilders feel alive. joby starts to feel better and feels a lot more confident in himself. at night before bed joby'' firmly and slowly turns the drum up so it faced towards the sky'' this shows that joby is very prod of being a drummer boy. the general is a very strong and wise character and always knows what to say.

  in conclusin, joby is confient and should be confident in who he is because he is a very inportant adition to the army. when i came to greet my family at the end of the play i knew i was a very importan character to the play and every character was special in his or her own way.

   City of Bones by Cassandra Clare is about a young teenager named Clarisa Fray. clary has a normal life living with her mother until one night at the pandimonium, clary notices alittle something unusual. she makes friends with two demon slayers. she finds out that she is half demon slayer. clary is angry that her mother has never told her anything about this. i would be angry if a huge secret like that got kept from me for such a long time. soon she finds out that her mother has been taken by evil valentine who wants to tke all demon slayer power. clary has to go on an edventure to return the mortal cup to where it belongs before valentine gets his hands on it. I think the theme of the book is that you should beleive in who you are because everyone is unique and different.

     i chose this theme because in the beginning of the book, Clary is very confused about her new life knowing that she is only half human. she starts to ask herself, was my whole life a lie? why would my mother keep something like this from me? what am i going to do whe i see my mother again? clary gets angry about not having a normal life a doesn't apreciate how amazing it is to be a demon slayer. soon throught the book clary becomes closer to the other unmortal teenagers at the instiute she is stayig with and clary start too uderstand how interesting it is to be unmortal.

   my opion on this book is that being different is a good thing and clary is different questions and thoughts maybe circleing clarys brain, but clary needs to forgive and not forget but be mature and understanding of the situation because her mother was just keeping the secret to protect her from being in a world of dangerous problems. i'm sure that a huge secret that her mother kept is clogging her brain with  my opinion on the how clarys mother kept such a big lie from her is that i would be angry and upset because finding out something like that is like finding out that you have a twin or a sister you have never heard about which is upsetting and alittle exciting.
 
  i also enjoyed reading this book and would read it again because it is full of problems that stop and make me thik about putting myself in their shoes. for example, clary finds out that her mother has been taken by a very dangerous and powerful sourcerer, that can kill when he wants to take when he wants to take. i like reading fantasy books because its interesting to read about unmortal characters and how that deal with mortal humans and dangerous anemies.

  emily read a book called the futer of us by jay asher. this book is about "facebook'' and how they found facebook in there time because it didnt exist. they changed their futur life by facebook. i liked emilys responce because it was very interesting to see her summery of a book. i also liked the book she chose because it sounded like it it had a lot of twists, turns, and conflict. i would have liked to see her put her opinions and thoughts about the book. but i really enjoyed reading her responce

  mady read the same book as me, a long walk to water. enjoyed reading her responce beacuse it is fun to see how another person interperated this book. i like how she included lots of details on the whole story. i also liked how she fuly explained the personality and the life of the two characters in the story, this showed me that her main focus was on the characters and she enyed the characters. i enjoyed reading her responce.

                                             Reading Responce For a Long Walk to Water   

     Over the summer i read three books but my favorite book was a long walk to water by Linda Sue Park.it is about a young boy named salva and a young girl named nya. But thier are two sides of this story. Nyas side is about her long walk to water. The walk takes almost a day and nya has to do that  for seven months all year. Salva gets caught in a war and gets seperated from his family and doesnt know if they or dead or alive. Salva must traval with random stangers for safety and salva never knows what will happen next.

     After reading this book i think that my favorite character is salva. Salva is brave and very mature for the age of twelve. I think that salva took his whole situation well. I would not because if i was separated from my family i would be angry and sad. My favorite seen was when salva gets on a plane to go to new york and he is so excited.

     I really enjoyed reading this book and i enyoed writing a responce on it. I would read it again if we had to read a book in this genre.
