socail action question - is the book fair or unfair unfair blog #3
in the book the hunger games the government has way to much power over each district. a boy and a girl from each district has to compete and fight till death. it is really unfair that children should have to fight and kill, because they still have a long way to go in there life and if they die they didnt get to experience all that they should have. the book is nonfiction but one of the problems is obviously the ruler having way to much power over inasint people. another problem in the book was a smaller conflict but, poverty. most families in district 12 dont have enough food and other resources. katnisses family is poor and are almost broke. when katniss goes into the games she is worried about her family starving while she is away. the government really does not care about most of the problems that go in in each district.
in the book a huge mine explosian that many people were in and died. it affected many families including katnisses family which really set off a load of problems, the father was in the explosian and died, the whole family was depressed about it, they were running low on money and starving, and katnisses mother couldnt get a job.the family was starving to death. that is probubly what is happening to a lot of families. this is one problem showing the to much power that the ruler has. the everdeen family is stuck in there poor house in district 12.
this book has many problems in it. the problem of children fighting till death just makes me sick inside knowing the trauma they are feeling when the fighting time comes.its like the people in each district are puppets and the ruler and his cabinet are puppet masters and can play with them whenever they want. so i think the book is mostly unfair.
